Professional e-purchases always on top
The total of purchases made on the Internet in France crossed the historic bar of 100 billion euros in 2019, according to the study presented in February by the Federation of e-commerce and distance selling (Fevad). Up 11.6%, it was precisely 103.4 billion euros, four times more than ten years ago. With 14.2% growth in one year, professional purchases are doing even better, despite a growth rate down by more than three points compared to 2018 (+17.8%) and 2017 (+17.5%) . The last quarter of 2019 was also marked by a significant slowdown, with an increase of "only" 9.9%. The study covers both the information collected from the main merchant sites and the aggregate amount of transactions carried out by the main payment service provider companies.
