Over the years, and even more since the Pandemic-related upheaval from coronavirus and the war in Ukraine, supply chains have continued to become more complex, recalls the research firm Idc in its "Technology Spotlight" publication. In this context impacting the economy on a global scale, in addition to the proper execution of processes and information exchange, it has become essential to ensure risk management and continuity of purchasing and procurement activities. For this, according to Simon Ellis, the author of the document, the Collaborative digital networks such as the SAP Business Network provide significant benefit by simplifying and accelerating interactions with external partners. Through their shared database, referencing for example more than 5 million companies at SAP, these networks also facilitate sourcing and global management of the supplier relationship, with more transparency, traceability and visibility on commercial transactions.
